SunBriteTV Selected For New Target Field

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 9/23/2009

Moorpark, Calif. - All-weather TV manufacturer SunBriteTV said Wednesday that it has been selected to supply more than 200 of its all-weather LCD TVs for installation in the Minnesota Twins' new baseball stadium, Target Field, which is slated to open in 2010.

The 32-inch and 46-inch TVs will be positioned in the stands and around the concession areas, the company said.

All of the sets sold to the ballpark will include the company's new Internal Media Compartment, which will house and protect a Cisco media player providing a networked platform advertising opportunities.

"We are pleased that SunBriteTV is becoming a standard for outdoor sporting venues, such as Target Field, where the harsh weather conditions requires a proven industrial-strength product," stated Lynn Stearn, SunBriteTV's sales VP. "We're especially excited about our growing relationship with Best Buy for Business, who as the integrator for this installation, relies on SunBriteTV's all-weather technology for Target Field."

SunBriteTV has previously sold all-weather sets to other professional and college venues, including the new Yankee Stadium in New York, Fenway Park in Boston, The Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati Reds), Turner Field (Atlanta Braves), Edward Jones Dome (St. Louis Rams), Kaufmann Stadium (Kansas City Royals), Raymond James Stadium (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), The University of Oklahoma's Memorial Stadium, Rutgers University Stadium, University of Minnesota's TFC Bank Stadium, West Virginia University Stadium, Texas State University' s Bobcat Stadium, and Jack Trice Stadium at Iowa State University.

Models selected for Target Field include the 32-inch 3220HD and 46-inch 4610HD.

Both include corrosion-resistant, powder-coated aluminum exteriors that protect internal components from rain, dust and insects.

Extreme temperature ranges are handled through a filtered airflow system and internal thermostatically controlled heaters.

A watertight cable-entry system and cable pass-through design is used to easily connect the sets to a range of source devices and include the following inputs: HDMI, component, VGA, S-Video, composite, RF, RS232 serial and discrete IR control.

The Internal Media Compartment is an in-factory upgrade modification that customizes the TV to accommodate the Cisco Digital Media Player and an Enseo Pro:idiom Hospitality Tuner.
