JVC Adds D-ILAs, LED LCD Monitors

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 9/10/2009

JVC America's consumer and professional products groups are each slated to unveil a pair of 1080p D-ILA front projectors at the 2009 CEDIA Expo.

The consumer products group will unveil models DLA-HD550 and DLA-HD950, with native contrast ratios of 30,000:1 and 50,000:1 respectively.

The professional products group will present the DLA-RS15 and DLA-RS25, with native contrast ratios of 32,000:1 and 50,000:1, respectively.

New technology features common to each model include JVC's double-speed 120Hz Clear Motion drive, Inverse Telecine (reverse 2-3 pulldown), a screen adjustment mode that optimizes the projector for different screen types, and JVC's Original Picture modes that processes film-based images with adjustments to more closely match the color mixture method used in film.

The DLA-HD950 and DLA-RS25, which will both be available in early October, will be ISF certified for professional calibration, JVC said.

Also slated to be unveiled is a 32-inch “super-slim, light weight” LCD monitor using an LED edge-lighting system and configured to the needs of the CEDIA market.

Model LT-32WX50, which will ship in October at a price to be announced, measures a quarter-inch deep (6.4mm) and weighs 12.5 pounds. The ultra-thin panel depth was achieved through the use of edge-lit LED lighting that enables a shallower panel depth.

The system also affords a wide color gamut, measured at 100 percent of sRGB range and 90 percent of Adobe RGB range. Also included in the model are six picture settings.
