B&O To Open Third Texas Store

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 9/10/2009

Bang & Olufsen will open its third showroom in Texas this fall, joining existing stores in Dallas and Houston.

The new 1,168-square-foot showroom is located in Austin's 2nd Street District and, like its sister stores in the Lone Star State, is owned by 1818 Retail Opportunities, a Texas-based custom-installation business.

“The 1818 Retail Opportunities team has been a strong partner of ours for many years,” said Zean Nielsen, president of Bang & Olufsen America, “and we are proud to further expand B&O's tradition of excellence in design and technology in the Austin area.”

The store showcases the full Bang & Olufsen product line, including its new BeoTime alarm and desk clock, due to arrive in stores this autumn.

The showroom also features Bang & Olufsen's BeoLiving concept, which controls lighting, draperies and various environmental modules through a single remote control.

A grand opening cocktail reception will be held for new Bang & Olufsen customers in the Austin area. For more information on the event or to RSVP, guests can call the store directly at (512) 481-1818.

Chicago-based Bang & Olufsen America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bang & Olufsen, the Danish manufacturer of premium A/V products that are sold exclusively through company-branded stores, including 50 in the U.S.

1818 Retail Opportunities is a 30-year-old custom-installation firm specializing in high-tech equipment and home-theater systems. The company operates locations across the country and has been an independent Bang & Olufsen dealer for seven years.
