UEI Adds New Nevo Remotes

ATLANTA — Universal Electronics (UEI) will display at CEDIA Expo (booth 1424) two new models in its line of Nevo handheld remote controls. The new Nevo models offer onboard programming without the use of a PC.
The new NevoC3 is an IR/RF model that includes a 2.2-inch color touchscreen.
According to the company, the 18-device universal remote includes a robust onboard IR library and enables RF and device programming directly on the remote, allowing installers to test device codes on the spot. UEI calls it “the only installer-based remote that includes RF control of DirecTV RF compatible set-top boxes without the need for a separate RF base station, eliminating added complexity and costs.”
Features include UEI's EZ-RCTM Remote Control Setup Wizard, a full-featured Web-based programming suite that allows users to further customize the remote for advanced functionality such as creating activities and favorite channels. It includes a rechargeable li-ion battery with powered charging cradle and retails for $299.
Also new, the NevoC2 is the IR-only counterpart to NevoC3. It also controls up to 18 devices. It includes 40 programmable keys, blue backlighting and software-controlled tilt switch for a retail of $229.
Also available: the Nevo REX-433, a compact RF extender that works with the NevoC3 to allow for additional IR control of devices that are hidden or out of the line of sight. It includes 6 IR emitters and retails for $99.
