Plantronics Bows Latest ‘Earpiece'

The Discovery 975

Santa Cruz, Calif. - Plantronics has added to its selection of Bluetooth headsets with the Discovery 975.

The Discovery 975 â€” which, like the Discovery 925, Plantronics describes as a Bluetooth "earpiece" â€” features advanced AudioIQ2 and WindSmart technologies, as well as two microphones to capture the user's voice and eliminate background noise. The device has grooved vents on the boom and acoustic fabrics, said to surround the microphones to block out noise.

Other features include an adaptive 20-band equalizer and the company's trademark charging case, which has been updated to include an LCD screen that displays the battery and earpiece charge levels and Bluetooth connectivity.

The device weighs 8 grams, has two-button operation and features voice prompts.

It's currently available for a $129 suggested retail.
