New York - Sony used the new Yankee Stadium Thursday as the setting to unveil its latest Blu-ray Disc offerings, including a pair of 400-disc Blu-ray Disc (BD) MegaChangers and a new single-disc player.

The BD MegaChangers - BDP-CX960 (shipping this fall at an $800 suggested retail) and BDP-CX7000ES (shipping in August at $1,900) - will store and play up to 400 Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs.

The new single-disc ES series BDP-S1000ES will feature built-in Wi-Fi capability and will ship in August at $700.

Both MegaChanger models will feature a USB 2.0 port and Ethernet connection, the latter supporting wired (or wireless with an optional adapter) Internet access and BD-Live capability and will include the ability to download information from Gracenote's Music ID and VideoID service to organize movies and music.

When a disc is inserted into the player, the Gracenote system automatically downloads information across an existing Internet broadband service and saves title, director, some cast information, release year and genre information for most titles.

All three models output video in high-def formats, including FullHD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema, and support 7.1-channel Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD high-resolution audio decoding and bit-stream output as well as x.v.Color technology.

Models BDP-CX7000ES and BDP-S1000ES add 7.1-channel analog outputs, support Deep Color via HDMI, and include Sony's Precision Cinema HD up-scaling technology, which up-scales video to 1080p format when connected to a 1080p display via HDMI.

Precision Cinema HD up-scaling uses advanced conversion and processing to detect image changes at the pixel level, rather than whole scan lines. Separate algorithms are used to process the moving and still parts of an image for sharp backgrounds with moving objects that are free from artifacts, Sony said.

The BDP-CX7000ES and BDP-S1000ES also incorporate Sony's HD Reality Enhancer technology that continually analyzes the original source bit by bit to sharpen edges and reproduce detail while reducing film grain.

The single-disc BDP-S1000ES will add built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi access for easy network setup and access to the Internet and BD-Live content. Wi-Fi setup is facilitated through the use of a Wi-Fi Protected Setup function. Additionally, the player is Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) ready, allowing it to connect to other DLNA compliant devices to watch digital photos on a TV.

It also includes a USB and Ethernet ports.
