eMachines Intros $299 Desktop

Acer America continues its spring roll out.

Irvine, Calif. - Acer's eMachines brand today released three entry-level PCs that continue the company's tradition of having a $299 starting price.

The top-end ET1300-02, $449, has an AMD 2.5GHz Athlon X2 4850e dual-core processor, 3GB DDR2 memory, Nvidia GeForce G100 graphics with 512MB of discrete memory, 160GB hard drive and DVD SuperMulti drive. It also desktop PCshas DVI, HDMI and VGA connectors.

It comes bundled with the eMachines E18.2H 18.5W-inch display, which sells separately for $129.

The midrange model is the ET1810-03. It is powered by an Intel Pentium 2.2GHz dual-core processor, Nvidia GeForce 7050 graphics, 3GB of DDR2 memory, 320GB hard drive, DVD SuperMulti drive and a VGA port. Suggested retail is $369.

The entry-level unit is the ET1810-01. It drops down to a 1.6GHZ Intel Celeron processor and 2GB of DDR2 memory, but otherwise carries the same feature set as the ET1810-03, Its suggested retail is $299.
