Jensen Ships Bluetooth Kits

Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 6/30/2009

Hauppauge, N.Y. - Audiovox, under the Jensen brand, is shipping its first line of retail-aimed stand-alone Bluetooth car kits, including a Works with iPhone kit at a $129 suggested retail.

The five-product line products, first unveiled in January, include the JC 100 kit that is Works with iPhone and Made for iPod certified. Users can stream their music through the car radio, and when a call comes in on their Bluetooth phone, the device will mute the music. It connects to the car radio via FM modulator or auxiliary output and can charge an iPod and iPhone as it docks or by a USB port on the side of the unit.  The JC 100, $129, sits in the cup holder.

At the top of the new line is an adapter with a 2.8-inch screen that can sit on the dash or windshield to show music and caller ID information. The BT390 announces the names of callers from the users' phone book and comes with a wireless remote than can also affix to the steering wheel, so users can answer without having to touch the screen.  It uses an FM modulator or auxiliary input to connect to the car radio for streaming music and includes an external speaker and microphone.  Suggested retail is $229.

Three additional Jensen kits are priced between $119 and $199.
