Gateway Intros New Netbook

Irvine, Calif. — Gateway today introduced an improved netbook with an HD display and a more powerful processor.

Gateway said the new netbook’s small package will allow business travelers and students to be more productive.

The LT3100 has an 11.6-inch widescreen HD display and is powered by an AMD Athlon 1.2GHz 64 single-core processor L110. The unit weighs 3.1 pounds and is about 1 inch thick. It carries a $399 suggested retail in its basic configuration.

Other features include 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM single channel memory, integrated ATI Radeon X1270 graphics, 250GB hard drive, 802.11 b/g and an integrated Web. It runs on Microsoft Vista.
