Hitachi Bows 3LCD Projector Trio

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 6/18/2009

Orlando, Fla. — Hitachi Home Electronics (America) business group used InfoComm 2009 to introduce three 3LCD video projector models for the business and education markets, including an affordably priced short-throw model, a lightweight high-contrast unit and model with high-brightness output.

Model CP-D10 is a short-throw 3LCD projector that is said to be well suited to use in classrooms. The projector features a short-throw distance of 3 feet that projects an 80-inch image, eliminating image obstruction in front of the screen.

Features include closed-captioning functionality, input source naming and AMX Device Discovery technology.

The latter helps all AMX NetLinx Integrated Central Controllers automatically recognize when a serial or IP device is connected and systematically load the appropriate communications module or driver for use.

The CP-D10 offers 2,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, a 500:1 contrast ratio and XGA resolution. It includes a 4,000-hour hybrid filter for maintenance. A PIN lock, transition detector and Kensington slot are added for security.

The CP-X3010 3LCD projector was designed for classroom and meeting room applications, offering 3,000 lumens of brightness and a 2,000:1 contrast ratio.

It weighs 7.9 pounds and includes 16 watts of built-in audio, while maintaining a low noise rating of 29dB in Eco Mode. A hybrid filter enables 5,000 hours between maintenance calls.

Lamp life is rated at 3,000 hours in Standard mode and 6,000 hours in Eco mode.

Other features include input source  naming, closed captioning, a transition detector that requires a password to operate the projector when it is moved from a fixed position, a PIN lock and MyScreen functions.

The CP-X4020 is a high-brightness 3LCD projector with 4,000 lumens of light output and a 4,000-hour hybrid filter.

The CP-X4020 targets medium- to large-venue applications, and includes 16 watts of built-in audio, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and MyMemory, MyText, MySource and MyButton functions.

The CP-X4020 also offers blackboard/whiteboard mode and daytime mode.

It also includes the aforementioned transition detector, PIN lock and MyScreen security functions.
