Peerless To Show Spider Plate At InfoComm

By TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 6/1/2009

Peerless Industries plans to announce its Spider universal adapter plate at InfoComm later this month.

InfoComm will be held in Orlando, Fla., June 17-19.

The legs on the adapter plate are engineered to glide a full 360 degrees around the adapter's circumference using a forward-thinking clamp style technology, Peerless said. It can be used with projectors weighing up to 75 pounds.

“We are excited to show the future of adapter plate technology that decreases install time and makes installation more streamlined,” said Brandon Eble, product manager, Peerless Industries, in a statement. “This is the first universal adapter plate that has 360 degrees of adapter leg positioning freedom.”

To adjust the projector attachment legs, the installer reportedly loosens the clamp to enable the legs' smooth gliding motion, positions it to the desired location and then tightens the clamp to secure the leg in place. This design is meant to simplify installation and expand the range of compatibility, increasing the reach of the adapter legs by more than an inch to accommodate projectors with larger mounting-hole patterns.

The Spider universal adapter plate will ship with every purchase of a Peerless universal projector mount, and it can be retrofitted to the company's line of universal projector mounts. It will also be sold separately, for $96.

Peerless will also be showing its recently introduced universal short-throw projector mount line. The two models (PSTK-028 universal ultra-short-throw projector mount kit and PSTK-2949 universal short-throw projector mount kit) come kitted with the company's PRG universal precision gear projector mount. It has enhanced post-installation features for a quick and simple projector alignment, Peerless said, with post-installation adjustment designed into virtually every part of the short-throw and ultra-short-throw projector arm. The expanded wall plate offers lateral adjustment up to 6 inches while mounted on surfaces such as wood studs, concrete and cinder block.

The PSTK-028 is designed for use with projectors weighing up to 50 pounds. It has a $290 suggested retail. The PSTK-2949 is designed for projectors weighing up to 35 pounds. Suggested retail is $340.
