Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG Electronics' said last week it is now shipping its LH55 LCD TV series models, with 1080p, 240Hz resolution and a sleek, silhouette design.
The series, which was first unveiled at International CES, features the 37-inch ($1,400 suggested retail), 42-inch ($1,800), 47-inch ($2,100) and 55-inch ($3,900) screen sizes. All incorporate LG's TruMotion 240Hz scanning backlight technology to improve motion picture response time and reducing blurring of fast moving images.
LG said its TruMotion 240Hz technology builds off of the Super In-Plane Switching (S-IPS) panel, which in itself offers fast response times and maintains better color and contrast at off-axis viewing angles.
The sets produce an 80,000:1 contrast ratio.
The LH55 models all comply with Energy Star 3.0 specifications.
