B&O Adds Blu-ray Option To BeoVision 7-40 LCD TV

By TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 6/1/2009

Arlington Heights, IL – Bang & Olufsen said Monday that its BeoVision 7-40 40-inch LCD TV has been updated with an integrated Blu-ray player and 120Hz picture processing technology.

The high-end, design-centric company said the BeoVision 7-40, which ships this month at a $13,500 suggested retail, now implements an optional Blu-ray player and a DVB-HD module, to expand and enhance playback performance.

The standard DVD optical drive of BeoVision 7-40 has been replaced with an optional built-in Blu-ray drive. The players include BD Live support.

Video performance has been enhanced through the addition of B&O’s video engine, with double frame rate technology, also known as 120Hz motion compensation to minimize motion blurring in high-speed images.

With the enhanced technology, the picture refresh rate has doubled compared to conventional LCD televisions.

The BeoVision 7-40 also offers two dedicated loudspeakers to choose from, to tailor the sound setup to the user and the home.

One option is the BeoLab 7-2 stereo loudspeaker unit, which is designed as a genuine hi-fi loudspeaker concept and optimized for television sound. The BeoLab 7-4 is the center loudspeaker unit, featuring proprietary Acoustic Lens Technology.

The BeoVision 7-40 was designed especially for floor placement, including a turn-and-tilt mechanism operated through a Beo5 remote control.

Alternative placement options such as wall or table mount solutions are also possible. The available color palette includes a choice between natural aluminum, black, dark grey, red, blue, and gold.

BeoVision 7-40 with Blu-ray will be available at all Bang & Olufsen retail locations this June 2009. MSRP $13,500 and includes one of the center channel loudspeaker of choice.
