AVAD To Open Larger N.J. Facility

By Joseph Palenchar -- TWICE, 5/26/2009

Pine Brook, N.J. — National custom-install distributor AVAD is relocating its New Jersey facility from Piscataway to Pine Brook, where the company will hold a grand opening Vend-O-Palooza event on July 23.

The 32,000-square-foot showroom, warehouse and will-call center will feature larger showroom, warehouse and training facilities, said the Van Nuys, Calif.-based distributor, which operates 28 facilities in North America.

The facility includes an Experience Center that dealers can use as showroom to demonstrate products to prospective customers. Its larger warehouse will accommodate more inventory for “just in time” order fulfillment.

At the one-day Vend-O-Palooza, local dealers will be able to meet with more than 40 manufacturers, see new product demos, participate in raffles and giveaways, purchase products at special pricing, and attend workshops focused on managing and growing the business.

The new facility, at 10 New Maple Ave., will open for business before the grand opening event, but the exact date hasn’t been determined.

AVAD, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro, stocks home theater, lighting controls, distributed audio/video, central vacuum and other custom-installed gear. It also hosts more than 450 online and classroom continuing education classes each year.
