Stealth Ideas Supplies More Mobile Security

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/5/2005

Stealth Ideas reported its StealthSurfer II portable Web security device will start shipping this month.

The StealthSurfer is an application that resides on a flash drive and creates a secure connection between a consumer's computer and a public wireless network, the company said. The device has a $99 suggested retail price.

The StealthSurfer uses the FireFox browser in conjunction and integrated IP masking to create an encrypted “tunnel” between the computer and the host Web site. The data in the tunnel cannot be read, and any intercepted data packets would appear illegible, the company said.

The device also features RoboForm, a one-click application that helps fill out online forms, and Thunderbird, an e-mail access program that works with POP3 e-mail services to stop spam and viruses from invading a computer through an e-mail.
