Dish Adds Fandango Movie Ticket Service

Englewood, Colo. — Dish Network said Monday that it has added an interactive channel that will enable subscribers to order movie theater tickets through the Fandango online movie service.
Dish subscribers will be able to order tickets with a push of a button on their remote controls when tuned to Dish Network Channel 100.
The new Fandango application, powered by OpenTV middleware, will automatically use customers’ ZIP codes to search for nearby theater listings and show times. Subscribers with phone lines connected to their set-top boxes will be able to make credit card purchases using their remotes through a secure connection.
To redeem tickets, customers present their credit card at the movie theater as proof of purchase. No confirmation code is required. Dish Network subscribers can also search theater listings and show times outside of their set-top-box ZIP code.
