Oregon Scientific Bows Unique Weather, Camera, BBQ Items

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/8/2007

Oregon Scientific, at booths South 4 S212 and South 4 S211, will be launching its WeatherNow II tabletop weather station and talking BBQ thermometer at International CES.

A joint project with Microsoft, WeatherNow II is a tabletop weather station that draws on MSN Direct technology. The WeatherNow II can be taken out of the box, plugged in and users can instantly begin receiving a four-day weather forecast, including chance of precipitation and "feels-like" temperature. Pricing and shipping dates will be available at CES.

The talking BBQ thermometer will be available in time for Father's Day. Designed to be stylish and compact, this wireless thermometer can transmit a signal from the temperature sensor to the talking base, which will notify the griller when their meal is nearly done. With four meat settings and eight temperature settings, the talking BBQ thermometer can also be used in ovens in temperatures of up to 380 degrees Fahrenheit. Pricing will be available at CES.

Oregon will also be showing the next generation of its action camera lineup, the ATC2K. Weighing in at less than 1 pound (with batteries), this hands-free, self-contained action camera provides full-color digital video in 640 by 480 VGA at 30 fps. It shoots video in up to 3 meters of water for the duration of the battery life.

Pricing and shipping dates will be available at CES.
