Tweeter Puts To Rest Bryn Mawr, United Audio, Douglas TV Brands

CHICAGO Six years after buying Pennsylvania's Bryn Mawr Stereo & Video and exactly one year after acquiring Chicago's United Audio Centers, Tweeter has laid those venerable CE specialty store names to rest.
As part of its overall branding strategy, the chain has chosen to change the monikers of its 34 Bryn Mawr, United Audio as well as Douglas TV units in Chicago and the Mid-Atlantic States to Tweeter, reflecting their new corporate parentage.
"Expanding our brand across the country is the natural next step in our company's evolution," said Noah Herschman, VP marketing for Tweeter Home Entertainment Group.
Store signs for each of the three chains were scheduled to switch to the Tweeter marquee by yesterday, leaving Atlanta's HiFi Buys as the sole surviving nameplate among the company's five completed acquisitions. The names of Houston's Home Entertainment and San Diego's DOW chains were changed to Tweeter last July.
