Electronic Express Joins NATM Group

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 10/13/2003

Electronic Express, a Nashville, Tenn.-based specialty CE chain, has joined NATM Buying Corp., becoming its 12th member.

The 18-year-old regional retailer operates 15 stores in the mid-Tennessee market and a 2,000-SKU Web site, http://ElectronicExpress.com.

The company shares with NATM an interest in big-ticket TV, including LCD, plasma and DLP. It differs from the group's typical product profile by also specializing in home audio and smaller CE, including mobile and portable audio, digital imaging and wireless phones, and does not carry white goods.

Elsewhere, BrandsMart plans to open its first long-awaited Atlanta location in early 2005 at the 16-acre site of a former GM parts facility in the nearby suburb of Doraville. The superstore will be the chain's first location outside Florida, where it will compete with 11 planned H.H. Gregg stores.
