KIS Debuts Kiosk For Making Photo Books
By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 2/23/2009
Atlanta — Hoping to capitalize on the growing market for photo merchandise, KIS Photo-Me Group will debut its Photobook Maker kiosk at PMA.
The self-service kiosk can produce a fully bound photo book within eight minutes with no retail staff intervention, said Nikolas Series, VP. The only interaction with the unit entails replenishing supplies, he added.
The kiosk can produce up to a 30-page book with up to 90 photos, although retailers will have the ability to set page and layout paramters. The kiosk produces 300 dpi prints with a glossy finish on dye sub paper.
The company will begin trialing the unit in April through June, with mass deployments set for July and August, Series said. The books command a suggested price of $19.99 for 10 pages (the minimum order) and $1 per each additional page.
