Panasonic Adds 3 Front PJTVs

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 3/13/2007

Secaucus, N.J. — Panasonic Projector Systems, a unit of Panasonic North America, will unveil three new LCD projectors at the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) Expo in Orlando, Fla., on March 15.

Models include the PT-F100U (shipping in April at a $5,299 suggested retail) and PT-F100NTU (April, $5,499), both with native 4:3 aspect ratios, and the widescreen PT-FW100NTU (June, $5,999). Panasonic said each has been designed to offer “long-lasting brightness and features that reduce installation and maintenance costs.”

The “NTU” models feature built-in wireless and wired network capability that allows them to be easily connected to PCs. Wireless connectivity is supported with built-in wireless local area network support.

Vertical and horizontal lens shift and 2x powered zoom features help reduce installation costs by allowing the projectors to be placed close to an A/C power source and/or a wired network connection, the company said.

Administrators avoid the expense of installing new A/C or network connections and the potential difficulty of complying with building code regulations.

All three models are designed to maintain maximum brightness and reduce maintenance costs due to dust build-up by using the company’s Auto Rolling Filter. This is said to be an electrostatic filter technology that automatically detects and removes filter sections that have accumulated dust.

A new lamp and lamp drive system is offered to ensure maximum brightness at 3,000 to 5,000 hours, depending on the installation environment.

The PT-F100U and PT-F100NTU models deliver 3,200 lumens of brightness, while the PT-FW100NTU outputs 3,000 lumens. All three models incorporate Panasonic's Daylight View 3 functionality that optimizes color, brightness and contrast for the ambient lighting condition in the room. The PT-FW100NTU uses a wide 1,280 by 800 LCD panel.
