Vernon, Calif. — High-end personal audio equipment maker HeadBanger Audio is unveiling two flagship brands — Ear Subs and Head Subs. The company said these devices break the mold of typical headphones and ear buds by utilizing an electronic amplified subwoofer that is attached to the cord and custom-designed ear buds to deliver high-definition audio directly to the listener.
These models are specifically designed for the Sony PSP handheld video game console and the iPod line of MP3 players.
According to HeadBanger, the combination of the subwoofer, ear buds and headphone drivers produce studio-quality sound in a portable device that rivals such headphones as Bose, Sennheiser and Sony.
The Ear Subs deliver sound directly to a user's ears, with a range of bass well below even the best current portable audio equipment, said HeadBanger. Suggested retail for iPod-licensed Ear Subs is $39.95.
The Head Subs have a foldable headphone design that that ensures fit and sound quality for gaming, portable audio and general audio needs. The subwoofer is paired with speakers that deliver high-definition audio sound. Suggested retail is $39.99
