DICE Ships Video iPod Kit, Readies HD Radio Tuner

LAKE TAHOE, NEV. — DICE Electronics is shipping an iPod adapter that transfers video as well as audio to the car's entertainment system.
The DICE iPod kit, originally unveiled in January at International CES, now adds iPod video capability and has begun shipping to stores including Tweeter and Al & Ed's, said CEO Laszlo Barabas.
The adapter includes a set of cradles that can work with any iPod. The cradles include a video output connector which can send video from the iPod to a car video screen. These also connect to an adapter that plugs into the CD changer port on most car radios.
The DICE iPod adapter allows text display of song information on most cars and works with steering wheel controls. It is bundled with car specific wiring harnesses at a suggested retail price of $159 plus $59 for the video cradle.
DICE Electronics also said it will ship in October an HD Radio adapter shown at CES. Called the HD DICE, it is an external HD Radio tuner that integrates into factory radios. It works with select models of Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Lexus, Mazda, Mini Cooper, Scion, Toyota and Volkswagen and is expected to carry an approximate price below $200. DICE is working to add compatibility with other car models in the future
