Hitachi Tabs Hammond, Norton

San Diego — Hitachi America’s ubiquitous business platform systems division, business group has appointed Kirk Hammond regional sales manager.

Hammond has more than 15 years experience in the professional audio/video industry, having served in sales and marketing positions in the dealer, retail and computer VAR sectors.

He previously worked as Hitachi Software’s U.S. sales and marketing director from 1999 to 2002. Most recently, he was the national sales manager for Vutec.

“The growing presence of projection technology in an ever-expanding number of markets presents a tremendous opportunity for sales growth,” stated Hammond. “I am confident that Hitachi’s commitment to reliable performance and customer service will translate into unprecedented sales in the future.”

The ubiquitous business platform systems division also recently named Paul Norton as its director of sales, Eastern zone and buying groups.

Norton most recently acted as executive director of sales for the Americas for Hannspree California.

The 25-year industry veteran has also served as sales director of Hewlett-Packard’s specialty retail group, as sales director for Compaq Computer’s consumer products division and as national accounts VP for Toshiba America Consumer Products.
