SwissGear Enters PC-Add-On Market WIth 1st Full Line

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 2/11/2008

Avenues in Leather debuted its first full line of PC accessories last month. The company is an authorized licensee of the Wenger and SwissGear by Wenger brands.

The line includes laptop cool pads, wireless presenters and multi-port USB hubs.

The two USB 2.0 hub solutions introduced include the UB400 four-port mobile unit, and a combo package UB700 consisting of two pieces: a mini four-port hub for mobile use and a three-port unit for home-based connections. All of the hubs are plug-and-play and backward compatible with USB 1.1A flexible 360-degree rotating adapter are meant to allow the hub and its connections to move easily for mobility and secure connectivity. The UB400 carries a retail of $29.99, and the UB700 combo will retail for a suggested $49.99.

The Glacier SwissGear cooling pad for laptops features a "silent-running" patented dual-fan system, a collapsible package and USB on/off power switch. It is available in black/red for $34.99, or pink/silver for $39.99 and can be used with 14-inch to 15.4-inch laptops.

Finally, the company introduced two SwissGear wireless personal presenters: the PV300 wireless mobile presenter and PV600 wireless multimedia mobile presenter. Full presenter functions on the PV300 ($39.99) allow start/pause, black screen, ESC/end slide show and on/off functionality.

The curved PV600 ($59.99) adds mouse and volume controls, track forward and back, and a highlighting feature. Both can operate up to 100 feet away, according to the company, and the USB connector attaches to the underside of the units to prevent loss.

The presenters are offered in black/red and pink/silver. They are currently available.
