Intel Introduces PC Accessory Products

By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 11/6/2000

HILLSBORO, ORE .-Intel entered the computer accessories category last week with the introduction of a family of wireless keyboards, mice and game pads.

The devices are being sold under the Intel Connected Product Line family, which also markets the company's digital cameras and toys. Peter Adams, product line manager, said the devices are 900MHz RF based with a 10-foot range.

The family is comprised of the base station, with a $59.99 suggested retail price, keyboard, $79.99, mouse, $59.99, and game pad, $64.99. Additional wireless accessories are planned.

The horseshoe-shaped game pad is the most unique-looking of the new products. It has nine programmable buttons and two triggers, and can be used as a mouse. It is optimized for sports and action games and not for flight simulation or driving games.
