New Hyundai Genesis Has XM NavTraffic

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 1/14/2008

Detroit — XM announced that Hyundai will offer XM NavTraffic real-time traffic as an option on the Genesis, a new, rear-wheel drive premium sports sedan.

The Genesis is Hyundai’s first vehicle to offer the service, which will be available in its navigation system.

XM NavTraffic alerts drivers to traffic incidents along their driving route. The reports are refreshed every minute.

The Genesis will also offer XM Radio as a standard feature, as part of Hyundai’s effort to gradually include XM radio on all car models as standard equipment. Currently, XM is a factory-installed feature on the Accent, Azera, Elantra, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tiburon, Tucson and Veracruz.

Other car models with XM NavTraffic as a factory-installed feature include Acura (MDX, RDX, RL, TL), Cadillac (CTS), Infiniti (G35, G37, QX56), Lexus (LS, LX) and Nissan (Altima, Armada, Pathfinder). Aftermarket navigation systems from Alpine, Garmin, Kenwood and Pioneer also offer the service.
