Averatec Ships New Ultra Portable

Santa Ana, Calif. — Averatec has started shipping this week its new 1100 Series ultra-portable notebook computer.

Weighing in at 3.4 pounds, the unit features a 10.6-inch display, is outfitted with Intel’s Centrino Mobile Technology and uses the company’s Pentium M ultra-low-voltage 733 chipset. Other features include 1GB of DDR memory, an 80GB hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking. The widescreen display uses Averatec’s AveraBrite picture-enhancement technology.
The unit has an estimated street price of $1,349 and will be available shortly in a variety of retailers, including Best Buy, Micro Center, Newegg.com and Buy.com.
