John Froman, executive VP/merchandising of Circuit City, named executive VP/chief operating officer. Succeeding him is ex-senior VP/hardlines for Target Stores, Kim MaquireMichael Scharff named computer VP and Randy Wick appointed music, movies and car stereo VP for Best Buy. Both executives will be responsible for merchandising functions of their respective product categories… Tweeter Home Entertainment Group has made several appointments. Joe McGuire, chief financial officer, gets the additional title of senior VP, and will handle distribution, service and human resources. Senior VP Shelley Miller added responsibility for marketing, purchasing, interior store design and layout, and corporate sales. Rick Johnson, ex-Gateway Computers, joins the chain as national director of construction…Keith Lehmann, MB Quart managing director, could not reach an agreement on his role with the company, which was recently acquired by Rockford. Longtime MB Quart national sales manager Paul Von Feldt will continue with the firm...Kent J. Hussey, president and chief operating officer, and former chief financial officer, all at Rayovac, will reassume the CFO responsibilities following the resignation of Randall J. Steward as executive VP administration and CFO. Nine-year BSH Appliances veteran Harry Gianetti has resigned as executive VP/sales. His duties have been assumed by recently installed president/CEO Hans-Peter HaaseTeresa Siebert, a 12 year marketing executive with Sharp Electronics, named associated director of marketing for its appliance division… U-Line Corporation sales rep Guy T. Gunter of Guy T. Gunter, Jr. and Associates, Atlanta, has retired after selling the firm's line of built-in undercounter ice-making and refrigeration products throughout the South for 40 years…Bob Nardelli, president/CEO of The Home Depot, has been elected chairman of the home improvement chain's board of directors, succeeding company founder Bernie Marcus, who will retire in May.
