ADL Honors Komiyama, Lee, Throgmartin

The consumer technology and appliance division of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) held its annual dinner dance at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, here, Saturday, Nov. 12, and set all records in terms of attendance and funds raised.

Over 500 industry executives and guests contributed more than $600,000, according to ADL, to honor Sony Electronics' president/CEO Dick Komiyama, Monster Cable's “head monster” Noel Lee and H. H. Gregg appliances & electronics chairman/CEO Jerry Throgmartin.

Sony Corporation chairman/group CEO presented the S. David Feir International Humanitarian Award to Komiyama; Consumer Electronics Association president/CEO Gary Shapiro presented the Patricia Rienzi Legacy award to Lee; and Sam Abdelnour, sales and distribution VP/general manager for Whirlpool's North American region presented the American Heritage Award to Throgmartin.

And the keynote speaker of the evening was Brad Anderson, vice chairman and CEO of Best Buy.
