LAS VEGAS — After a brief stint as a distributor of Polaroid-branded digital cameras, phone-maker Uniden will jump into the digital camera market at International CES with two of its own models.
The cameras will carry the name Uniden NUVO. The 5-megapixel UDC-5M will sport a 3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch, 115,000 pixel LCD screen, video recording, 15 scene modes and 26.5MB of internal memory. It can snap up to 300 photos on a pair of AA alkaline batteries and offers video recording and PictBridge compatibility.
The UDC-5M will retail for a suggested $179.
The company will also offer a 7-megapixel model, the UDC-7M, with many of the features of the 5M. The camera will use a lithium ion rechargeable battery capable of capturing up to 500 photos per charge.
