Universal Remote Control Features Consumer-Friendly Line

Staff -- TWICE, 8/23/2004

Universal Remote Control has introduced three remote controls and an RF receiver.

The company said the items combine high-end functionality and performance in a consumer-friendly product line for less than $200 — namely universal learning remotes that include the Unifier, model URC-100; Automator, model URC-200; and Customizer, model URC-300.

These, along with the Expander, model MRF-100, RF receiver base station, are said to effectively create a new market for high-performance and high-value universal remote controls at affordable mid-market retail price points.

Each of the remote controls features IR and RF technologies, previously limited to high-end, custom-install products, Universal said. In addition, each remote is compatible with the Expander RF receiver that provides an affordable and "innovative" solution to home theater operation throughout the home.

The Expander enables consumers to install and operate their out-of-sight A/V equipment from up to 100 feet away. The Expander works through walls, doors and windows.

The Unifer addresses the needs of a consumer that wants a very simple-to-install and simple-to-operate remote to consolidate the operations of two or more remotes at home.

The Automator can replace up to 10 different remotes and has a built-in library of over 1,000 codes for ease of programming components from all major brands.

The Customizor allows A/V enthusiasts to customize all aspects of home theater operation, and is designed for power users. It can consolidate the operations of up to 15 different remotes.
