PMA: Consumers Leave Photo Books Unfinished

By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 9/30/2008

Jackson, Miss. — While the number of consumers making photo books has climbed, nearly a third leave their photo book projects unfinished.

According to PMA, 8.8 percent of U.S. households made a photo book in 2007 — up from 7.3 percent in 2006. Of those, an enterprising 71 percent finished all the books they started, while 29 percent did not.

When asked why they left their books to languish, PMA found that 53 percent of consumers cited the intention to resume work at a later date, 29 percent complained that the process took too long, 15 percent said they ran out of photos and 12 percent pleaded boredom.
