Skype CEO Steps Down

San Jose, Calif. — Skype co-founder Niklas Zennstrom will step down as company CEO.

Skype parent company eBay made the announcement yesterday. Zennstrom will become non-executive chairman of the Skype board of directors.
eBay will slot its current chief strategy officer Michael van Swaaij into Zennstrom’s post until a successor is found.
Henry Gomez, Skype president and eBay senior VP, will return to eBay full time as corporate affairs senior VP.
