FCC OKs GMRS Radios

Audiovox, Cobra and Motorola said they received FCC approval on the first two-watt, 22 channel, GMRS radios slated for the market. At press time, Midland also expected to receive approval on its model G220 shortly.

Audiovox said it will ship its two-watt, 22 channel GMRS unit, the 1100CH at the end of April and Cobra expects to ship its models, the PR950 DX and PR 1100WX this quarter. Motorola's T7200 received approval on April 5 and will go on sale in May, said the company.
