Moxell, Motorola End Joint Marketing Plan
By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 10/25/2004
Garden Grove, Calif. — Citing disagreements over marketing strategies in North America, Proview International's Moxell Technology company and Motorola formally announced they have ended their joint development plans for consumer video displays.
However, a new agreement between Proview and Motorola allows Moxell to continue selling Motorola-branded television displays in the Asian markets.
In a prepared statement, Motorola said the decision does not affect any Motorola “connected home” products currently available to consumers, which were not covered in the original marketing agreement. The company also said it “remains committed to supporting its retail product portfolio and to bringing innovative broadband-enabled products to market.”
Moxell said it “is moving forward with a multibrand strategy” in conjunction with its Hong Kong-based parent company. The company just announced the delivery of its first plasma and LCD TVs under the Proview and MAG Innovisions lines.
