Danville, Calif. — Fusion Research will ship on May 1 a pair of its Genesis Video music hard drive servers with 1TB and 2TB storage capacities, respectively.
The 1TB version, which carries a $7,995 suggested retail, will store up to 150 DVDs. The 2TB version (300 DVD capacity) carries a $9,495 suggested retail.
Both single-zone media servers combine storage and playback capability for digital media libraries.
The servers can provide up to three discrete streams of music or video simultaneously, Fusion said. Storage capacity is said to be “infinitely expandable for additional video and music collections.”
The Genesis servers offer than same easy-to-use graphical user interface found on the company's flagship model, Cinema Server.
Installation and set-up has been simplified to virtual plug-and-play procedure. An Internet connection allows free, automatic downloads of DVD and CD meta data and cover art.
