hhgregg Taking Majap Trade-Ins

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 8/15/2008

Indianapolis — hhgregg will offer customers up to $200 toward the purchase of new Energy Star-certified Frigidaire appliances next week with the trade in of their old white goods.

hhgregg will offer customers up to $200 for their old appliances in a “green” program with Electrolux’s Frigidaire brand.

The program, dubbed “hhgreen,” is designed to help customers save money by cutting back on water and energy usage, the company said.
The initiative may also serve to stimulate appliance sales during one of the industry’s sharpest downturns in recent memory.
Trade-in values are $50 for dishwashers, $100 for washers and top mount refrigerators, and $200 for side-by-side refrigerators with the purchase of a same-category Frigidaire product.
The retailer has also created a Web site at www.hhgreen.org offering conservation tips, recycling programs and other trade-in opportunities.

Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy to encourage manufacturers to make energy-efficient products.
