Kathy Ireland Home Brings Furniture To Its First CES

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/8/2007

Kathy Ireland Home by Martin will exhibit its office and home entertainment furniture line during International CES at booth 26606 in the South Hall.

"This will be our first CES," said president/CEO Gil Martin. "Our goal is to combine home furniture lifestyle designs with the function that the ever-changing home electronics category demands and puts these products in a more accessible arena."

Martin will showcase new designs that will house full-sized audio components with HDMI cables and flat-screen television configurations with easy access to electronic components. These units also include power centers with overload protection and are built in a way that naturally reduces heat buildup, the company said.

One TV stand also includes occasional tables with speaker grills that house subwoofers. All of these features are accompanied by lifestyle-driven designs that complement home décor, the firm said.

Martin has developed a product built especially for avid gamers. Features include multi-height pull-out shelves, storage compartments for CPUs or game consoles, a multi-angle back for mounting several monitors and a complete power center with voice-activated lights.

In 1981 Gil Martin founded Martin Furniture, a producer of home office and home entertainment furniture. Twenty-two years later, in April 2003, Martin Furniture partnered with Kathy Ireland World Wide and became Kathy Ireland Home by Martin. In 2005, the company grossed more than $63 million in sales. Martin products are sold through several retail channels all over the country including warehouse clubs, commercial office, catalogs and specialty stores.
