Panasonic Refreshes Bluetooth Phone

LAS VEGAS — Among Panasonic's new cordless introductions at International CES will be an update to its Bluetooth conversion phone and a line of lower cost 5.8GHz digital models.
"We spent a lot of time asking customers about their phone needs," said Bill Taylor, communications group VP, Panasonic. "What they told us was that they wanted a focus on fundamentals – phone design and advanced features that make their phones more capable but also easier to use."
The company will maintain a mix of 5.8GHz digital and DECT products, Taylor said.
The TH1211Bluetooth-enabled DECT phone can link with up to two Bluetooth-enabled cell phones to provide cellular calling to each of its up to six handsets. Once paired to a cellphone, it will re-link to that phone automatically when it is in range, without any consumer action, Taylor said.
It will retail for a suggested $99.
In 5.8GHz, the company will launch the KX-TG4321 for a suggested $39.95. It features caller ID, ITAD and is expandable up to five handsets.
