iBiquity Planning Data Demo At CES

Staff -- TWICE, 12/4/2000

COLUMBIA, MD. -With iBiquity continuing to merge the Lucent and USADR digital radio standards, it's unlikely that Las Vegas radio stations will be able to transmit programming in the unified format to CES conventioneers in January.

Instead, the company said, Las Vegas stations will likely repeat CES 2000's demonstration of a predecessor format proposed by USA Digital Radio (USADR), which merged with Lucent Digital Radio in July to form iBiquity.

iBiquity will also use a rooftop transmitter at CES to demonstrate DAR's ability to transmit data, including album covers that could appear on a large display screen, as it did during a recent Detroit automotive show.
