Fremont, Calif. — The newest remote from Logitech, the Harmony 676 remote, is an Internet-configured universal remote control.
The Harmony 676 is custom configured on www.logitech.com/harmony and is accessible by both PCs and Macs. Eliminated is the need to perform complicated programming or complex commands that are required of other universal remotes.
Users simply answer a series of online prompts about their A/V systems and the remote is configured by downloading all instructions for a mix of components via the supplied USB cable. The remote controls all infrared devices, including A/V components, game boxes, MP3 music, servers and media PCs.
The remote offers three interchangeable faceplates for matching décor and also provides special navigation keys for use with any personal video recorder de vices, such as TiVo and DVD-R.
Suggested retail is $229 and availability is the late fall.
