Maxell Rejoins Battery Market
By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 3/30/2009
Fair Lawn, N.J. — Maxell announced it is re-entering the battery market after a three-year hiatus.
The company will introduce a line of alkaline batteries, what the company described as returning to its roots.
Maxell said it plans to begin shipping the line in April. TWICE's attempt to contact the company regarding specific SKU information and pricing was not returned as of press time.
The company added that it plans to expand the battery offerings later this year, with a line of environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries.
In some trivia, Maxell noted that “Maxell” was derived from the words “maximum capacity dry cell,” and batteries were the first products they introduced into the U.S. market more than 40 years ago.
