Memphis Offers OEM Integration

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 9/3/2007

Memphis Car Audio is entering the OEM integration market with a 6ix system expander.

The 6ix is designed to add amplifiers and speakers to a factory radio. It has six inputs to add two sets of speakers, an amplifier and a subwoofer, as an example. The 6ix has a signal sensing turn-on, and two channels of remote volume control. It ships in September at a suggested retail of $199.

Also new is a Bass2.2 sound processor designed to restore bass when an MP3 player is played through a head unit. The processor can be added anywhere in the car stereo system to restore frequencies between 25Hz to 65Hz at a suggested $199.

Memphis is also shipping eight new unloaded subwoofer enclosures in dual and single models from $106 to $160.
