D-Link Shows Multifunction Printer Server

LAS VEGAS — D-Link is showing a RangeBooster G multifunction printer server (DPR-1260) designed for networking home offices, schools and other businesses that require sharing multiple printers, during International CES at booth 31434, South Hall.
Users plug a USB printer into one of the four ports and run the automatic configuration wizard to start printing and scanning over a wireless network. It also provides wireless connectivity for any Ethernet-enabled device, such as a computer or network-attached storage device, the firm said.
When attaching multiple devices, an installation wizard takes all the work out of setting up the print server and configuring the attached printers. Multiple ports give users the option of adding multiple printers, multifunction printers or scanners to the network. The server's Wi-Fi technology improves wireless performance, reducing the time required to send print jobs to the print server, the company said.
The D-Link DPR-1260, which is compatible with a range of USB multifunction printers and scanners and is backward compatible with USB 1.1/1.0 printers, has a suggested retail of $119.
