Lenexa, Kan. — Instant wireless solutions maker AeroComm is offering its ConnexModem data communication system, a combination transceiver-modem device that enables dial-up networking from remote areas, where phone connections aren't convenient.
The ConnexModem system can be installed in minutes to provide point-to-point communication over distances of up to 500 feet indoors and miles outdoors. Users simply attach a ConnexModem unit to a standard RJ11 phone jack, then connect a ConnexPC counterpart unit to any device with a standard RS232 serial port.
The ConnexModem is said to create a link without cables, even around corners and through walls. It's a small, simple, portable solution for cord-free Internet access in temporary settings as well as for fixed integration. It uses the 2.4 GHz band, and two RF power levels are available.
Suggested retail starts at $249 per unit.
