B&O Standard In Condos

New York — Bang & Olufsen products will be available as standard amenity for the first time in a residential development when an upscale condo project opens in New York City's West SoHo area next year.

The 12-story Renwick condominium will include B&O audio and video equipment in the price of all 44 units. The products include the new BeoVision 8 32-inch LCD TV, BeoSound 4 wall-mountable compact stereo system and companion BeoLab 4000 compact speakers. The condos are also prewired for additional B&O multiroom audio systems and come with a standard home-automation system with touch panel.

B&O markets directly to home builders and contracts with local custom installers to install the products.

The Renwick's exterior is all glass, reflecting what B&O called "the same clean-lined, minimalist aesthetic" of B&O products. Renwick units range from 750 square feet to 2,000 square feet.

ADA Ships Touchscreen

White Plains, N.Y. — Audio Design Associates (ADA) began June shipment of it $699-suggested TS-8611 touchscreen, which connects via single CAT-5 cable to the company's Suite 16, Suite 8x8, Suite 8200 and SWAN distributed audio systems.

It features high-contrast 240 by 320-pixel TFT LCD display with white LED backlighting. The screen fits inside a standard single-gang wall box and connects to a multiroom-A/V system's system mainframe via one CAT-5 cable. Its white metal faceplate attaches magnetically to the touch screen.

Control4 Offers 3

Salt Lake City — Control4 will add a third screen size to its family of in-wall touchscreens with the July shipment of the 7-inch widescreen model to complement a 10.5-inch model and its Mini Touch Screen.

The wired version of the touchscreen will retail for a suggested $1,195, as will an 802.11b/g wireless version due later in the year. Both deliver whole-home control of multiple systems, from multiroom audio to lighting, security and HVAC.
