K2 To Ship S-Arm In Sept.

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 6/18/2007

K2 Mounts announced it will begin shipping its programmable S-arm robotic flat-panel on-wall mount in September.

Based on technology from CLO Systems, the S-arm is billed as a convenient, high-tech alternative to manual articulating mounts. Its 90 degrees of continuously variable swivel range reportedly eliminate flat-panel such viewing problems as glare and reflection, as well as such off-axis viewing problems as inaccurate color and loss of picture detail.

The remote control enables two user-programmable memories to recall stored viewing preferences.

When not in use, the S-arm retracts the TV to an "unobtrusive" position that is 2.8 inches from the wall. The mount may be installed to swivel to the right or inverted to swivel to the left.

The S-arm is designed to accommodate plasma or LCD flat-panel TVs from 26 inches to 50 inches and weighing up to 100 pounds. It has a $695 suggested retail.
