Gold May Lead Buying Group Of Four Ex-NATM Members

Saul Gold, who recently retired as executive director of the NATM Buying Corporation, has been approached by members of the group that were dismissed recently to start a new buying group.
Gold told TWICE that representatives from HandyTV, Queen City TV & Appliances, Vann's and Video Only approached him to see if he was interested in heading a new group. "I told them that I'm interested, but you need a few more members to make it viable. If they get a few more retailers, I'm available," Gold said. The veteran retail executive said that chains interested in joining a new group could call him at 516-868-1435.
The four chains will remain members of NATM until March 31, according to NATM executive director Bill Trawick, who issued a statement during CES in Las Vegas earlier this month.
