Cupertino, Calif. - Apple has revamped its iMac computer line with the new Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

The switch over to the Intel chip boosts the performance of the four new all-in-one style iMacs by 50 percent, Apple said.

The new iMac line new flagship model, priced at $1,999, features a 24-inch display, 2.16GHz processor, 1GB of SDRAM, dual format/double layer DVD burner, 250GB hard drive and a built in iSight video camera. The step down 20-inch model carries the same features with a $1,499 price tag, while the 17-inch version uses a 2GHz processor and a 160GB hard drive for $1,199. The entry-level piece, $999, has a 17-inch screen, 1.83GHz processor, DVD/CD-RW drive and 512MB of SDRAM.
